New Friends

I had Willie out for his morning walk & he got to nake a couple new friends in same family. Their owner takes the dogs out seperate because one is 12yr & low energy, the other is a new high-energy pup (collie/doberman). Who she got from a shelter the day before she was going to be euthanized. She was just over “8mos” at the time & had just had puppies.
The pup is vocal (her herding genes) & kinda whines when coming up to the meet, because of being held back by the harness/leash (I really don’t recommend harnesses, but that’s a whole ‘nother story). I told her to go ahead and let her off – her pups body language was excited but all good, since Willie is all about meet & play. As soon as off leash, the pup quieted & they just played.
It was a much better experince than with the girl yesterday who insisted on leashing up and not socializing her puppy.
